I'm an innovative and motivated graduating senior from UW-Madison passionate about writing, media production, and filmmaking. Collaborative and consistent, I'm excited about developing creative projects for studios and organizations after taking a wide array of media production courses highlighting narrative filmmaking and supporting the production of the Dementia Matters podcast for the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center.

I'm looking to use my creative talents and expertise in the different stages of film and media production to craft engaging stories for audiences of all ages. I'm primarily interested in positions with focuses on entertainment or educational media, though I'm always excited to develop my skills within other fields like marketing or advertising.

Work Experience

July 2022 - September 2022

Writing - Drama Intern at the Television Academy Foundation

Through the Television Academy Foundation's internship program, I was able to work in a writers' room for a currently unreleased television show as a Writing - Drama Intern. Being a part of the writers' room gave me an in-depth look at the world of entertainment and media production.

Responsibilities/Achievements

  • Shadowed writer’s PA, showrunner’s assistant, and writer’s assistant to gain in-depth understanding of their responsibilities

  • Supported needs of writers’ room with twelve staff by conducting research, organizing needed materials, executing meal and coffee runs, and completing other office tasks as needed

  • Developed strong understanding of TV pre-production, such as outlining, producers’ notes process, scheduling production 

  • Participated in professional development and networking events to develop a well-rounded understanding of the TV industry

Multimedia Technician at the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center

As a summer multimedia technician, I supported the Wisconsin ADRC with work on different media projects, including the Dementia Matters podcast.

Responsibilities/Achievements

  • Produced, edited, and promoted podcast episodes on the latest Alzheimer’s disease research to share with 2k+ listeners

  • Organized editorial calendar to prioritize trending topics and audience interests and maintain record of interviews, episode data

  • Produced special series of the podcast according to scheduled events/conferences

  • Wrote and revised episode copy, show notes, and guest introductions through thorough research and fact-checking on content and guest background

Student Podcast Editor at the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center

As the student podcast editor for Dementia Matters, I was engaged with every step of the podcast production process. I drafted bios and questions for the interviews, edit the recordings together, and write the copy for the episode before uploading them online.

Responsibilities/Achievements

  • Produced, edited, and promoted podcast episodes on the latest Alzheimer’s disease research to share with 1.7k+ listeners

  • Increase quarterly downloads by 8.5% by coordinating uploads with book releases/research publications, improving podcast accessibility, and submitting to podcast awards

  • Write and revise episode copy and guest introductions through thorough research and fact-checking on episode content, guest background, and related resources

  • Draft and design graphics for Facebook and Twitter using Canva

  • Take initiative to learn Adobe Audition and other digital communication technologies through LinkedIn Learning and online instruction to improve episode quality and communication strategy

House Fellow / Resident Assistant at UW-Housing

As a House Fellow, I'm able to engage with an exciting new class of incoming students and guide them through the first year of their college experience. Through this position, I'm able to build meaningful relationships with about 60 first-year students through event planning, conversations and interactions, and policy enforcement. By communicating with the residence life team and with my residents, I'm able to navigate challenging situations in order to support students as they move into adulthood.

Responsibilities/Acheivements

  • Built an inclusive community with 60 first-year students by offering guidance, providing campus resources, and organizing virtual and in-person events to support and improve their college experience

  • Organize and promote residence hall events and promote university-wide events through flyers, messages, and emails

  • Collaborate with a team of 32 house fellows and residence life staff on projects and events

  • Navigated emergency situations and incidents, such as COVID-19 emergencies, interpersonal conflicts, and policy violations, by anticipating student needs, using creative problem-solving, and following RA guidelines

Associate Director of Marketing and Outreach for the Wisconsin Union Directorate's Distinguished Lecture Series Committee

Being the Associate Director of Marketing and Outreach allowed me to help lead our committee and promote our virtual lecture events with exciting guests, like Shailini Kantayya and Ben Crump. Through this position I developed strong design and digital marketing skills to advertise our events amidst the pandemic.

Responsibilities/Achievements:

  • Organize 3-5 lecture events around campus with the directors, advisors, and committee each semester

  • Design and upload social media posts using Canva and scheduling tools

  • Manage the organization’s social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) to communicate with 250+ followers per platform

  • Write and review text-based promotions, such as social media posts and press releases

  • Manage our email list through MailChimp to communicate about upcoming events, promotions, and event feedback forms to 300+ interested students and community members

  • Reach out to other organizations and university departments to collaborate on or promote lecture events

  • Collaborate with the other 11 Wisconsin Union Directorate committees on events, marketing materials, and campaigns

Rheta's Market Student Supervisor for UW-Housing

Through my first leadership position on campus, I helped supervise and manage one of the dining halls, Rheta's Market, on the UW-Madison campus. Within this position, I collaborated with a team of other supervisors and managers to organize tasks and plan events. Helping train and support a team of 70+ team members, I built strong relationships with my coworkers through providing support and advice for the dining job and for college as a whole. This job also helped me become quick on my feet when it comes to solving problems, especially when issues come up suddenly.

Responsibilities/Achievements:

  • Collaborate with a team of other supervisors and managers to organize tasks and plan events

  • Build strong relationships with our team of 70+ team members by providing support, giving advice about classes and job development

  • Organize and manage supervisor tasks while assisting team members with station tasks and serving guests

  • Train new team members in 10 different stations and their corresponding tasks

  • Problem-solve within a fast-paced environment to best serve students and customers

At the University of Wisconsin - Madison, I graduated with a B.A. in English Creative Writing and Communication Arts  (Film/Radio/TV) and certificates in Digital Studies and Digital Cinema Production.

Interests

My creative passions are fueled by my interests in the arts and the world around me. In particular, I love musical theatre, dance, photography, and music. I also love learning new things from other fields such as history or psychology. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, playing puzzle games, and reading.
